Overall, the sentiment at the hearings was that stronger standards are needed to stave off future attacks. Also this month, the Federal Reserve announced that it is taking steps towards updating the U.S. payments system. Following responses from corporates and other industry participants to a recent consultation paper, the Fed said it is working to implement faster retail payments.
